Beach days and Holidays Styling with MsDizz, featuring the Comexim / Bra Obsessed Harbour Bikini!

Summer is drawing to a close in my part of the world and soon I will be packing away my swimwear and having it on standby for its next appearance:  winter vacation!  Or should I say vacation from winter!  Is there anything better than miles of white sand, blue water and sunshine when you’ve just left the North Pole behind?  No!  There isn’t!    Of course it is important to look good while you’re heading off to the beach, to the buffet, bellying up to the bar, or whatever your day brings, and that is why today our lovely blogger MsDizz has kindly volunteered to show us her own stylish solution for covering up and coordinating with the Comexim / Bra Obsessed exclusive Harbour bikini (reviewed previously HERE) .  If you picked this one up already, then you already know its a great suit and if you didn’t, it is still available through Bra Obsessed.

In the picture below, MsDizz is wearing a Gottex Blush Sail Away Jersey over her Harbour bikini, for a beautifully coordinated look.

This romper is sold out at many locations but I did manage to scour a few sources that still have it available (and at steeply discounted prices!) so that you might snag one up for yourself:

No outfit is complete without a great bag.  MsDizz is carrying the Michael Kors Jet Set Saffiano Leather Stripe Tote.  This bag is sold out but I did find it on Poshmark HERE.  There were also several listed on eBay such as THIS ONE.  Another, similar choice would be the  Tommy Hilfiger Adrianna Ribbon tote which I found  on Amazon HERE and one on eBay HERE.

You could complete this outfit with a pair of classic and comfy white birkenstocks:

And of course a great pair of sunnies.  This pair of Rayban wayfarers would be perfect.

Seems like we’ve done your beach wardrobe planning for you.  Now all you have to do is choose your destination!  😉

Happy Holidays from MsDizz and I!

P.S. – if you own this suit, what do you pair it with? Or if you are considering picking it up, what would you add to complete the outfit?  Let us know!

Comexim’s Absolute Beauty

2016-18-6--15-36-54The lovely Anna of Comexim gifted me with her Beauty Half Cup, and I could not be happier with it. The name says it all. There is something about this bra that is reminiscent of a time gone by.

The base of the bra is cream with the prettiest black lace overlay.  There are vertical seams in the lace, aligning with the vertical seams of the cups, which add another level to the overall gorgeousness of the bra.  The lace is across the gore and covers the wires, to bottom of the front of the band. It extends to the wings and ends in the most delicate eyelash lace. The remainder of the band is a cream nylon-like material with black trim. Along the tops of the cups is about 1.5 inches of a different black lace that compliments the overlay perfectly. There is a dainty bow at the gore made of black and a creamy gold satin. It adds just a little extra glamour to the bra, but doesn’t take away from the main focus: the lace.

                                 2016-18-6--15-46-46

The black straps are fully adjustable with a black satin overlay. The inside of the cups are lined with cream, soft  cotton.

2016-18-6--15-34-24

Let’s talk about my customization. Straps moved in 2 cm, reduced material at the gore to prevent gaping, reduced gore and pockets for cookie inserts. Half Cups are my favorite style from Comexim and so far I have been very lucky that Anna has been able to make the majority of my orders into the Half Cup model. In my size (80J), half cups are a three part cup construction, which allows for the projection that I need for my best fit. The cups have a very thin amount of padding. I think of it as more lightly lined, but definitely not heavily padded. Even without padding, as you can see, Beauty provides an excellent shape and uplift. If I want some extra oomph, I just add some cookies.

2016-18-6--15-32-37

The band is firm in Beauty, lying flat measuring at 27.75, and stretched is 35.5. This is for an 80 (36) band, so you might want to keep that in mind when ordering. Speaking of ordering… if you don’t have Beauty you should 😉

Bra Obsessed’s Exclusive Summer 2016 Comexim Bikinis – Harbour and Port

The weather man is calling for a long, hot summer where I live and so I needed no justification in ordering myself another new bikini.

This is the Comexim Harbour set.  It is available exclusively through Bra Obsessed.  I’m a sucker for anything nautical themed and so it, like so many other things, called my name.

collage-2016-05-21

I purchased the top in  30G and the bottoms in Medium.  I requested that the bottoms have the waist line raised one inch higher than is the standard for Comexim bikini bottoms.  I did this because I felt that my two other Comexim bikinis (Jamaica and Pin Up Girl) were a tad low cut.  Actually, that isn’t really the whole truth.  What happened was this.  This past March I was strolling along a gorgeous white sand beach in the Caribbean with my teen daughter when she asked if we could go for a ride on one of those fun-looking little sail boats that resort workers will take guests out on.  “Sure!”  I said, although frankly it was a bit windy that day, the surf was kicking up pretty good and I thought we might possibly even die.  Anyway, off we went and sure enough a big wave came up, soaked me right down and just about dragged my pants out to sea too.  So now I’m nervous of losing my pants and feel a little safer with them up a bit higher.

My bikini top is in the classic plunge style, with no modifications.

086

This bikini top features all silver-toned hardware and a jaunty little knotted bow at the gore which brings to mind a sailor’s rope.

018

In designing this set, special attention has been paid to what Jaimie’s customers have been looking for in a bikini. The bikini bottoms are fully lined.  The band of the bikini top is extra firm and strong, due to the addition of a supportive fabric liner built into the backside of the bikini’s band.

021

The shoulder straps are double layered and have reinforced zigzag stitching so that, for women with heavier busts, they will offer extra support, will not fold and will be much more comfortable.     There is a firm locking clip at the back.  I did note that the shoulder straps are only partially adjustable due to the extra silver ring on the back of the shoulder straps.  If you require the straps to be fully adjustable, you should request to have your bikini top made without that additional ring.  Personally, I have no need to adjust the straps that high and I feel  that the extra bit of hardware adds to the whole nautical / bikini vibe.

016

While I was at the Bra Obsessed shop a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to take a look at and try on Jaimie’s other exclusive bikini for 2016, the Comexim Port.  This is a sophisticated and sleek little black number with gold hardware made of high quality Lycra.   I noticed this bikini top showed quite a lot of cleavage.  The Port model actually owes its extra sexy appearance to having reduced cups and gore, which also helps it to have a less bra-like appearance.

082

This suit features the same special details as the Harbour, with the extra fabric liner in the band and the re-engineered shoulder straps.  The band definitely felt snug and secure and the gold locking clip felt strong enough that you wouldn’t have to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions on the beach.

084

Both the Port and Harbour bikinis can be ordered in your choice of regular cup style, half cup style, etc. (and you can even have the bottoms made higher if you are worried about losing them at sea!).

Bra Obsessed’s Exclusive Comexim Jade

I am lucky to live just about an hour and a half’s drive from Bra Obsessed and I recently made the trek out to visit owner Jaimie, to see all of her wonderful stock of goodies and to have a marathon try on.  First off, if you haven’t heard of  Bra Obsessed  yet, please check out my post here.

Of course I loved everything, lots of things took my eye and I left with two swimsuits, three bras and another two bras on order.  One  beautiful bra that particularly caught my eye in Jaimie’s shop was the newly released gorgeous Comexim Jade  which is an exclusive to Bra Obsessed.  We’re talking about a vivid, luxe emerald shade of jade here:

Jade

I was so excited when Jaimie generously gifted me a Jade set for review, and I couldn’t wait to share this gem with our readers!

018012

The fabric is truly a rich emerald green with a satin sheen.  The black lace overlay on the cups conceals  the  seam work while giving the bra a sophisticated, sexy vibe.

Jade.2

When I first put this bra on, I immediately noticed that it had that  ‘Anna Pardal quality’ feel to it.  Firm band lovers will rejoice because, like the Anna Pardal bras, Jade has the addition of a supportive fabric liner built into the back side of the bra band, giving the band added firmness and strength.

026023

Under clothing, Jade is very smooth.  The lace work on the cups helps to conceal the appearance of the bra’s seams through clothing.  Pictured below, I’m in a very thin t-shirt and you can barely see any outline of the bra.

005004

I always like to have matching sets.  It makes me feel ‘put together’ somehow.  The man in my life appreciates it too.   And the matching Jade panties are so sexy and pretty!

The panties for Jade are available in three options:

The tap pants are gorgeous with their lace backs:

Jade.panties.frontJade.panties.back

The panties are also available in thong version:

Jade.thong

On a personal note, I’m turning 49 this year (yikes),  and I’m pretty sure  I lost my bum cheeks somewhere back in around 1992, so these days I find I really prefer a full bottom panty with leg elastic the whole way around to keep them from riding up.  Thankfully this style is available upon request, and mine are on order.  I don’t have a picture of them at this time, so you’ll have to use your imagination.

Since Jade is exclusive to Bra Obsessed and was in fact designed by Bra Obsessed, I asked owner Jaimie about the design process, and her inspiration for Jade:
 ***
I’m actually also quite obsessed with home decor.  Of course, home decor and fashion seem to go hand in hand.  I’ve been really inspired by the pops of Emerald and Jade in home decor, as seen in this shameless plug showcasing my insanely talented sister’s artwork for sale on Etsy (you can check out her shop HERE)  😉
___
002
___
I also try to listen to my customers requests.  I have had a lot of customers asking for more rich colours.

So since I am in Canada, and Comexim is in Poland, I expressed all of my ideas to Anna and months later she told me that she found the fabric I had been wanting.  I knew I wanted it overlaid with a wide black lace, and when Anna showed me a couple of options, I immediately fell in love with the lace that we used.  Anna added her talented touch by laying it gracefully in the style of the Comexim Poison Ivy bra.

After speaking to many different customers and store owners, I tried to listen to what everyone is really looking for in a bra.  By far, the most common response was a good strong band that will stand the test of time.  I had also noticed that this was the main reason that Anna Pardal bras felt so solid, so I made sure that this bra was made just as solid.

Of course, I can offer any modifications regularly offered on Comexim bras (higher gore, lower gore, straps moved in, cookie pockets etc.).  There will be no charge on customizations except for when modifying it into a Longline, which would be an additional $10CAD.  It can also be made into a Halfcup, I just don’t have a picture yet of how this would look (although I will in about a week).
***
At time of writing, I had worn Jade for one full day before remembering to measure the band.  This 30 band measures approximately 22.5″ unstretched.  At 30″ I could see some cup distortion happening and so I didn’t force it further.  As noted above, the band does have an added liner for strength and support and it does indeed feel firm.
If you’re feeling green with envy over my beautiful Jade, you can order your own either directly through the updated website at Bra Obsessed or by emailing Jaimie directly at bras@braobsessed.com

Comexim’s Garden of Eden

As any busty girl knows, finding a swimsuit that fits properly can be quite a struggle.  And then to find one that’s pretty as well?  Forget about it!  Prior to my “upgrade” a year ago, my 30DD boobs could fit into pretty much any suit I wanted (triangle and bandeau tops being my favorite 😉 ).  But once I had 30GG/H boobs, I found that swimsuit shopping became so frustrating that I didn’t even enjoy it.  Bandeau tops made me feel like my boobs were falling out the bottom, and triangle tops kind of fit, but aren’t very appropriate (or supportive) for a day at the pool with my kiddos.  So I was super excited when I found out that one of my favorite Polish bra companies, Comexim also made swimwear!

image1 (30)
Courtesy of Comexim’s Facebook page

I started doing some research on Comexim suits last year, but to be honest I was in the middle of building up my bra collection and couldn’t bring myself to spend any of my limited bra funds on a suit quite yet.  Additionally, by the time I became serious about purchasing one it was already late summer/early fall and I figured by the time I got it, snow would be on the ground!  So I decided to wait until this year to make my first swimsuit purchase.  I checked out the Comexim site, and though I loved Pin Up Girl I was really hoping to get a new design for the new season, so I decided to wait and see what they would come out with.  And then there it was…in a Facebook post on Comexim’s page showing a model in a white bikini with a gorgeous floral pattern!

image1 (32)

From the moment I saw it, I was pretty much hooked and knew this was the suit I had been waiting for!  Now for the waiting game…checking Facebook and the Comexim site constantly, waiting for it to be released…waiting…and waiting…and waiting.  By the beginning of March I was getting frantic.  I knew that if I wanted a swimsuit before pool season, I needed to order it pronto.  Typically I’d just email Anna, the owner of Comexim and ask her (she is super sweet, and is always happy to answer questions), but since I was already in contact with Jaimie at Bra Obsessed, I decided to ask her.  Like a kick in the gut, Jaimie delivered the tragic news that Comexim had decided not to release this suit.  I was crushed.  As if Jaimie could literally see my heart breaking all the way from Canada, within hours she emailed me back and said that she spoke with Anna and though the suit would not be released on the Comexim site, she did have a limited amount of fabric left and would be happy to make me one!  Talk about turning a frown upside down 🙂  And as the flowers started to bloom and spring arrived, so did my gorgeous Garden of Eden!

image1 (31)

As I had mentioned earlier, I have never owned a Comexim suit before so I can’t speak for the design or details of previous suits in her collection.  But what I can say is that I was seriously impressed with this suit!  I was a little nervous that since this was a suit made by a company that primarily made bras, that the suit might look more like a bra than swimwear but it was not the case at all.  I purchased Garden of Eden in size 65J (my typical Comexim bra size) and I will say that is very true to size.  The material is very light weight and thin, but not see-through at all; and all of the details on it are on point.  The top is composed of a three-part cup that is lightly lined and the material gathers delicately towards the gore where a pretty lime green bow sits. The straps are adjustable with silver fixtures that match the silver clasp in the back.  Unlike their bras, the band is not adjustable so I would suggest going with a snugger band (since it will stretch a bit when wet as well).  The floral pattern looks very much like a water color painting, with beautiful bright and colorful flowers painted over a white canvas.

image2 (17)

For those who don’t like “matchy” suits, you could always buy your swimsuit bottom separately in either solid white or in any of the other numerous colors that are on the top.  But I decided to go for the whole enchilada and order the matching bottoms as well.  In my experience, Comexim bottoms typically run on the small side so although I wear size small, I always order a medium from Comexim.  The bottoms are in a standard bikini bottom style with white circle accents on each side that hold the front and back together.  I think they are beautiful but my one critique is that I wish the circles were in the same silver as the fixtures on the top, as I think it would tie the two pieces together better.

image1 (33)

Overall I am super impressed with my first Comexim swimsuit and am excited to purchase more!  The details, quality and craftsmanship are top notch.  To date I am only aware of a few Garden of Edens that have been purchased and have been told by Anna at Comexim that she is not sure how many more she would be able to make, since the fabric is very limited.  If you would like to try to get your hands on one, you can either email Anna directly at sklep@comexim.pl or by contacting Jaimie at Bra Obsessed.  Also, if you are unable to purchase Garden of Eden, or if you want to try a different Comexim suit for yourself, Bra Obsessed is currently offering three exclusive Comexim swimsuits shown below.  Please note: The black top will be in a plunge (and not the half cup shown in this photo) and the bottoms will be available in a cheeky thong or a full bottom.

Thank you for reading and I hope you can all enjoy this upcoming summer with a beautiful and well-fitting swimsuit!

The Majestic Lady Grey by Comexim

Hi ladies! It literally feels like forever since I’ve written a review for you all, but since buying a new home last fall I’ve not been able to keep up on my usual bra purchasing habits and therefore have not really had anything to write about. However, I am happy to say that along with this bra I also have a couple more on the way so I’m hoping to get some good reviews out for your reading pleasure!

Lady Grey is a bra that was originally made by Anna Pardal and first became available last summer. When it was first released, it had a satin ribbon edging that lined the tops of the cups (as seen below in this picture of Gogobee), but I believe that it caused some fitting issues so they later decided to remove that detail from the newer Lady Greys they made.

When this bra originally came out and several of our AEE ladies purchased it, I was obsessed immediately. But due to the ribbon issues I had heard about and the fact that I was still unsure about purchasing an Anna Pardal because of the heftier price tag than Comexim or Ewa Michalak, I held off. Then when we heard the sad news that Anna Pardal was closing its doors, I immediately fell into a regret spiral for not purchasing it when I could.  Luckily, shortly after hearing about AP, we heard the great news that Comexim (who had been producing the bras for AP) would continue to make them while they had the materials to do so.  I was elated and swore that I wouldn’t let this beauty get away from me a second time!

image2 (14)

As any of you who are regular readers of our blog know, we are huge fans of Jaimie at Bra Obsessed.  Though I have always been a “direct buy” kind of girl, purchasing my bras directly through Comexim and Ewa Michalak, this time I decided to try a retailer and reached out to Jaimie.  She was so sweet and wonderful to work with.  Given that the last bra I ordered from AP was a 30GG, I decided to stick with that size for my Lady Grey, ordering a standard plunge with no alterations.   Then I waited…and let me tell you, after being on a bra-buying dry spell for the last few months, I forgot how excruciating it is waiting for my bras to come in!  But finally it did come.  As I say with almost every bra I purchase, Lady Grey is even more beautiful and luxurious in person than in the pictures.  Not to say anything negative at all about my other Polish bras, but the AP bras definitely have a high quality luxury look and feel to them that is quite stunning.

image1 (24)

The first thing I noticed when I put on Lady Grey was how nice and firm the band and straps were.  It felt very secure and supportive without feeling constricting or uncomfortable.  I thought I had died and gone to Polish bra heaven!  But then upon further inspection of the fit, I noticed that there was a slight pointiness at the apex of the bra, where it wasn’t laying flat against my breasts.  My first thought was that the size might be slightly too big and that my breasts were not fully filling the cups.  I immediately sent the picture to my fellow AEE girls for their thoughts, and it was very clear to them that the cup was actually too small and that I needed to order the next size up, a 30H.  Over the next couple of hours I did that back and forth thing, trying to decide if I should just settle for a bra that was a little too small instead of having to send this bra back and wait for another one to be made (did I mention how much I hate waiting for bras 😉 ?), but in the end I decided that the girls were right and I needed to send it back.  Now one of the greatest perks about ordering through Bra Obsessed (and something I had never been able to experience before) is how easy exchanges and returns are.  I emailed Jaimie that night and asked if she happened to have a 30H in stock, and to my great joy, she did!  She mailed it out to me the very next day and I sent her back my too-small bra.  Easy peasy!

Now, have you ever had a time where you thought something fit fine…until you tried on anther size that fit you perfectly, and it was only then that you realized how poorly the original size fit?  That was basically my experience when my 30H came in.  The 30H did come with a couple alterations, with the straps moved in 3 cm and pockets added into the cups, but no alterations to the actual cups.  Below I have a comparison picture of Lady Grey in 30GG (bottom) and in 30H (top).  As you can see in the 30GG, the apex is too low (causing the pointiness), and the cups are too narrow which push my breasts in too much.  Though the gore is 1.75 cm taller in the bigger size, it is still low enough that the gore is comfortable and the wires don’t sit on my breast tissue at all. It was also a blessing in disguise that this bra already had the straps moved in, since I think that with the larger sized cup, the straps might have been too wide otherwise.

IMG_2251

I have worn Lady Grey both on the weekend and at work, wanting to try it out when I’m running around doing different activities as well as when I’m sitting at my desk job, just to try out it’s comfort level and I’d have to say that this in my top 2 or 3 most comfortable bras I own.  There are a couple of very specific reasons why I say this.  The first is that the band stays put.  I have a few bras that no matter how tight I make the band, because of the material it seems that the band likes to creep up throughout the day and I have to adjust it down.  This band is firm, yet very comfortable and it doesn’t move up my back even when I’m moving around a lot.  The second reason is that the gore is very comfortable.  I find that with most of my bras, by the end of a long day I can feel the gore starting to dig in a bit. I wore this bra for about 8 hours the first day and 10 hours the second and I felt no digging at all.  Overall I am so glad that I was able to purchase this gorgeous bra, and even happier that I didn’t settle for an “almost fitting” size and was able to get one that fit perfectly!

NOTE: Due to needing the larger cup size, I decided to remeasure my breast depth (it had been a while since I’ve done this). I’ve had my implants for 14 months and have had a 10.5″ depth since about 3 months post op, but it appears they have settled a bit more and now am measuring at 10.75″ (left) and 11″ (right). So it looks like I’ll be needing to size up in all my future bra purchases.  Oh darn…I guess I need some new bras 😉

Comexim-Rose Long Line

2016-13-3--16-54-22

I know it has been awhile since you have heard from us, and for that I apologize. Life happened, for a lot of us, but we are back, and promise to get back to posting regularly. 🙂

I am in love. I may or may not have said this about a few other bras that I have. Who am I kidding? If I have written about it, chances are, I am in love. 😉 But this one. Ahhh. This one is stunning. The Rose Long Line by Comexim. As usual, pictures do not do this bra justice. The black base, with the soft floral pattern are perfection. The fabric itself is very soft, and at first glance, is reminiscent of corduroy. Not the thickness, but the soft ridged texture. It is not textured enough to show under clothes, but adds enough to the fabric to really make it stand it out as not your “every day” bra.

  2016-13-3--16-47-26                                                  2016-13-3--16-50-13

The roses are soft shades of a deep pink, mid tone and light pinks, with various shades of green leaves. There are also shades of yellow, gray, white and blue.

The lines that come up through the fabric are a shimmery black and reflect the color that lies underneath. If the strip is over black, it reflects back. If it is over pink or green, it reflects those shades as well, further adding to the luxuriousness that is the Rose Long Line.

2016-13-3--16-49-17

There is a black bow accent at the gore, and lining the tops of the cups are two pieces of black elastic, with the sheerest black mesh like material connecting the two. A panel of the floral print extends to the bottom of the band, down the center of the bra.

2016-13-3--16-48-12

The back of the bra is solid black, as are the fully adjustable straps, that extends to meet the floral print in the front. There are three rows of 5 hook and eye closures. Mine is constructed of three-part half cups, allowing for the projection that I need. Rose is beyond comfortable, and extremely supportive, offering a delicate rounded lift.  The inside of  the bra is lined with black cotton.

2016-13-3--16-51-23

This bra is so gorgeous that I am trying to come up with ways to wear it so that is can be seen, without looking like I am trying to show off my bra. Any suggestions? I’m thinking a black button up, not buttoned all the way with a black pencil skirt. Yes, I think that could work 🙂 Rose sells for 160,00 zl on Comexim’s website. This is definitely one that you should consider adding to your collection if you haven’t already. Tell Anna that Tanzilove from An Enhanced Experience sent you. 😉

Romance is in the Air – with Comexim’s Rita

I’m sure you don’t need me to remind you that Valentine’s Day is almost upon us.

cupid

Whether you are looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day with your love, or Singles Awareness Day with your cat, I wanted to take this opportunity to review for you the beautiful Comexim Rita set, which is perfect for either a romantic evening, or an evening spent watching re-runs of Friends with the cat.

cat

The version of Rita as shown on the Comexim site (as pictured below) is a deep plunge, similar to Comexim’s Ginger.

rita-biustonosz

Many months ago, I had an opportunity to try Ginger, courtesy of the lovely Jaimie at Bra Obsessed  (You can see Bra Obsessed’s stock of Ginger here).  I found Ginger to be too shallow for me, but I know that other ladies have had success with it.  In any event, I wanted my Rita to be in Comexim’s standard plunge style, which works best for me, and luckily this is what was/is in stock at Bra Obsessed.  I asked Jaimie to send me Rita in my usual size 30G with the matching panties in size medium.

Take a look at the close ups of the gorgeous details on this bra:

  288           287

That eyelash lace!  That adorable ‘C’ charm!  Those black velvet bows!  Swoon!

And now for the matching panties:

289            290

The matching Rita panties feature a front panel of the same gorgeous red fabric used on the bra, with the back of the panties being sexy sheer black.  I love that these panties are comfy enough for every day wear.  No wedgies with these babies.

The panties are also available in thong style if you choose and as a final sexy option to this set, you can add the matching garter belt as shown in the stock picture up towards the top of this post.  I really wanted that garter, but in the end practicality won over (I figured they’d probably look weird under my Old Navy track pants which are part of my winter uniform 😛  )

I’ve seen other bras with eyelash lace but not with it right against the skin.  I think that the effect this gives is very sexy but I did wonder if it might be itchy or feel ticklish.  I don’t feel it at all.  This bra gets an A+ for comfort.

296

Whenever I first purchase a vibrantly coloured bra, I always worry that the colour might bleed.  I can confirm that this one is completely colour stable.

This is a 30 (65) band.  I’ve owned it since early December.  It currently measures approximately 22.5″ unstretched and approximately 30″ stretched hard.

298

You can order your own gorgeous Comexim Rita set in plunge style, just like mine, through Bra Obsessed because even if you don’t get what you hoped for Valentine’s Day, the good news is that you can always just buy it yourself.

Wishing you all a happy Valentine’s Day / Singles Awareness Day!!!

Farewell to Anna Pardal-Sabine Long Line- As Elegant As It Gets

Sabine LL 36GG Doyenne HC

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing this review today. Honestly, I had started this post a few weeks ago when I first received my Anna Pardal order. Due to personal reasons, I had to step away from it for a bit. And now, I am ready to post it, and have received the sad news this morning that Anna of Anna Pardal is closing her business. Originally, this review contained information about Anna Pardal the company, how they operate, Anna moving her company to Poland to be closer to her manufacturer, Comexim, and how much she cares for her customers and making sure that they have a wonderful, gorgeous, properly fitting bra. It discussed the ups and downs that Anna herself had mentioned in her newsletter. The ups and downs no longer matter. What does matter is that Anna Pardal was a company known for their high end fabrics, stunning designs, and sweet, caring, eloquently spoken creator, Anna.

So, on to the review. I am in LOVE with this bra. It is the Sabine Doyenne Half Cup, Long Line. Yep, all of that. With Anna Pardal, you were able to customize to your hearts’ content. I requested pocket inserts for cookies and the straps moved in 2 cm. I tend to get some gaping of the material at each side of the gore in Anna Pardal and Comexim styles, so I request that the material be reduced there as well. I wish that I was lucky enough to be able to order everything standard. It would make my life so much easier! If you didn’t know already, the talented Anna of Comexim provided the manufacturing of Anna Pardal styles. The 2 Anna’s worked well together and have created some amazing pieces.

2016-09-1--15-33-46

Anna describes the Doyenne Half cup as:

With a low profile and a wider wire base, the Doyenne offers a new take on sophisticated sensuality.  The cup provides support from below, a wonderful option for a more spacious decolletage, and intelligent pattern adjustments are incorporated throughout the size range. Relative to the Classic Plunge, we bring the straps closer in on G+ cups. For 28 to 32 bands we reduce the center gore, and for 38+ bands we raise the gore.

Doyenne Half-Cup is available in either a standard or longline shape and with any of our fabrics.”

Anna Pardal Doyenne Half Cup

The Sabine bra has a red base, with black mesh lace overlay. There are light red/pinkish flowers on the material and the vertical seams are made of black stitching. Red bows at the straps and the gore (my pictures make them appear pinker than what they truly are), and black lace trim along the tops of the cups. The inside of the bra is lined with soft red cotton. This Long Line is so comfortable that I could sleep in it. There are 3 rows of 5 hook and eye closures, for the utmost comfort. It is exceptionally supportive, and beyond beautiful. So beautiful in fact, that I wish I could wear it on its own. It is the kind of bra that you want to show people. You want the detail and craftsmanship to be seen, not tucked away under clothes. Luckily, I have AEE to use as my platform 😉

I wish that I had every Anna Pardal style in a Long Line version. I am in love with half cups, and the combination of styles that you could order with just one fabric made for a number of different bras. After reading Anna’s Newsletter this morning, my first thought, ‘I hope she is ok”. My next, “I wish I had ordered everything.”

An Enhanced Experience wishes Anna Pardal a very fond farewell. We were very lucky to be able to interview Anna early on in our blogging careers. You can read that post here. Anna has a passion for her lingerie, and we hope all the best for her, her family, and her future endeavors. The world of Polish Lingerie lovers has lost a brilliant company today. If you ever decide to come back, we will be waiting for you.

Please feel free to show Anna how much she will be missed on her Facebook page, and ours.

Comexim Snow- Plain Jane or Simply Sweet?

Meet the Comexim Snow, a seemingly Plain Jane of a bra, fitting in with Jelzzz’s last post on the simple but surprising Ewa Michalak Bezus. While this bra may look pretty plain, it has some details to make it stand out from your basic white bra. In fact, this bra is enough of a wardrobe staple for me that I have purchased it twice now! This post is going to cover both my new 60M Snow, with no alterations and my older 60L Snow with a reduced cup and gore. I usually order a 60L with those alterations, plus now the straps moved in, but lately the sizing just hasn’t been right. I’m not sure if there is a change in things from the company side or a change in my boobs, but something is most definitely different. The 60M is technically a fit, but there are some of my own fit preferences that it does not meet. I definitely prefer my usual requested alterations with this bra. The cups are filled, gore is flat, wire is great, but the top of the cup and strap placement is not ideal for me. It could possibly be solved with just moving the straps in, no reduction in cup height. I’m a short person (5’1.2″) with a small ribcage, but it is wide across the front and narrow from the side. This means I need a wider implant to fill my chest wall width, and with that goes more implant height.
The photo above shows exactly what I mean with the strap and end of the cups. The height looks good in theory, but the strap placement is just a touch wide. In the first photo you can also see how I need to angle the straps inward slightly to maintain their fit on my shoulders. The second photo and the detail photo on the bra strap shows that they are definitely too far into my armpit, I have some wrinkling in the strap. The wings of the bra are nice and low while still being wide. Perfect in my bra world!   The straps themselves are fully adjustable, great for the short torso ladies! But they are stretchy material. Those with heavier breasts may find that they must continue to tighten their straps. Details, on the plain side, white strap hardware with a pretty white bow. Nothing to write home to mama about, but this bra doesn’t need anything flashy.
Like I said before, I have owned this bra twice now. I’ve worn it to the point that it is dingy grey from washing, even though it still has wear left in it. At some point between when I first ordered and my recent purchase the bow in the center gore has been updated. Just a touch of different, again nothing super special. Pretty, basic, fitting with the bra style.   Here is the money maker on the bra!  The bra itself is basic white. But the cups and the front of the band are covered in a leaf print mesh material. Cute, different, and just enough to take this potentially Plain Jane out of boring bra territory. The back band is also a power mesh, but no pattern. The top photo is the new Snow, bottom is my dingy greyed Snow. You can see how the mesh is such a light pattern, it is hard to capture on photo. But luckily my dingy grey Snow shows it better. Makes me wonder how this bra would take to a soak in fabric dye. Suggestions for color?

But no matter how pretty a white bra is, time will take its toll. This bra did get dingy over time, even with careful washing. If you want your Snow to stay white I would recommend a gently sink handwash more often, and on it’s own (or with other white bras). I think with the care I provided this bra and the wear it received the appearance is fitting and well within expectations for normal wear.
We get so many questions about what the alterations on a bra can do for the fit. Now keep in mind that the bottom bra is a 60M, one cup volume bigger than the 60L. Take a look at the Bratabase table so you can compare sizing measurements when comparing how the alterations change the bra. On the 60L the gore is reduced and the cup height is lowered. I definitely prefer the reduced gore, but both bras tack. I prefer the reduced gore because the shape of the cups more closely matches my breast shape. A gore that is not reduced has the cups starting higher on the breast which can sometimes lead to gapping with movement for me. Reducing the cup height also helps solve the strap problem for me. It also reduces the area covering the side of my breast down into the wing. I think that having the straps moved in on their own would be enough to fix the strap issue and may be a more ideal cup height for me, but the reduced cup really benefits me along that sideboob area into the wing.

White bras are a bit of a pariah for many in the fullbust spectrum because before finding brands that offer variety, women are often stuck in a boring plain white, black, or beige bra. I really encourage anyone to take a closer look at these “Plain Jane” bras. Check the details, look closely. You may be surprised that they are not so Plain Jane at all; they are basic and functional while still being pretty and unique. Don’t let a solid color bra pass you by, you could be missing out!
